Given every other team knows that the Leafs need to clear cap space what's the likely return on Jarnkrok? 4th round pick or equivalent prospect?

You're probably losing Lafferty/Timmins for the same or less.

For sure, I was just interested in the likely (lack of) return.

Anyone heard of any further whispers of Murray buyout?

The first sign would be putting him on waivers.
For the buyout window, I think they have to put him on waivers by noon today.
I haven't seen any report of that happening.
If he's hurt, they may not be able to.

Good point.  This is going to give us fits then for the rest of the summer or until there's some clarity here.

At the end of the day it's not that big of a deal, and maybe in the long-run it'll be better really, but I do wonder if the Leafs could have argued their case better/stronger/crueler in Samsonov's hearing.

Of the 3 goalies who were headed to arbitration this season, I sorta pegged Samsonov as the 3rd most valuable. But Swayman's arbitration result was a touch less than Sammy's on a 1-year deal, while Gustavsson settled before his arbitration hearing on a 3-year deal only a touch more than Sammy's 1-year deal ($3.75mil).

I think he was roughly $500k over what I thought an arbitrator would give him, which isn't the end of the world (although lots of players getting a little more is how we might be getting stuck with a 20-man roster) and again maybe in the long run not ripping Samsonov's career and throwing his 20/21 season in his face stronger could be a good thing, it's just a little surprising that based off these contracts it looks like Sammy's the most valuable of the 3 when I thought it'd be the other way around.
