I'll believe it when I see an official release.

I wish to hell I'd never said "Winning isn't everything it's the only thing". What I believe is, if you go out on a football field, or any endeavour in life, and you leave every fibre of what you have on the field, then you've won.

I'm in denial mode but when Dreger says something that way it's pretty much done.

There's still a chance Treliving tells Shanahan he has a family before the contract is signed and throws the whole thing off.

He will probably wait till the press conference to spring it on him.

You know a reporter is going to ask a question about how the job will effect his personal life.

You know MLSE, I didn't miss the Brian Burke years as much as you think I did.

"Brad, how did your family take the news that you were divorcing them?"

I don't love the hire, but I don't think it'll be Brian Burke bad. Funny enough Dubas probably focused more on "truculence" than Treliving has the past few years.

Brad Treliving had 234 penalty minutes with the Columbus Chill of the ECHL in 1992-93 in 56 games played. Not bad.

I'm not a fan, but considering the place they put themselves, it could be worse. I'll save my opinion till after the core four are settled. I can see many paths here anywhere from the absolute worst possible case, to something good not great. Prove me wrong, Treeliving.

I'll judge him by what moves he makes.  Hopefully he's learned from his past mistakes with the Flames.  I have to admit I'm a bit nervous about the direction of the team now, and I fear the old MLSE boys club is back.  Treliving's dad has connections to the Rogers family and Larry Tannenbaum.  I guess we'll see.

Not the sexy pick I was looking for, but I don't think it'll be that far off from what Dubas provided, so I'll live with it.  Just have to see now what his plans are, because the next two years are going to be critical (well, the next month...).
