A Weekend at Bernier's

How cool is this?

It was just supposed to be another Thursday night beer league game for The Colts at Canlan Ice Sports on the outskirts of York University.

But then Maple Leafs Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin walked into the dressing room, and the men couldn't believe their eyes.

"This is awesome. I love it. Being a lifelong Leaf fan and experiencing something like this is unbelievable," said Colt Bernard Grzinic. "It's a dream come true. So surprised."

The same excitement occurred across the hall where Leafs Colby Armstrong and Tim Connolly suddenly showed up to coach the Delta Force.

Instead of just another game in the Adult Safe Hockey League (ASHL), the match was transformed into a Toronto Maple Leafs game experience complete with Joe Bowen broadcasting the play by play for fans and announcer Andy Frost introducing each player as he skated onto the ice.

I hope they didn't get any tips from Kulemin how to score goals.

I think we've suffered enough as Leaf fans all these years don't you?
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

I'm sure there is a KHL joke in there somewhere...

I heard Alfie once showed up at a Mini-Mite soccer match in Nepean and handed out Diet Cokes to all the kids.  Reportedly it was awesome.

That's awesome.. and this video here is a very similar kind of experience as well.

When I watched it I just felt so good... so cool. Imagine that happening to one of us in our hockey leagues?

Out of all pro sports, hockey players tend to be the best ambassadors of their sport.  Every now and then, a bad apple reaches the surface, but overall, not as much as the other sports, so I am not surprised that the Leaf players or ratboy would do stuff like that.

ZBBM was taking the piss there.
I think he thought I was taking a shot at Kulemin / Grabbo but it was a shot at the KHL

Tigger

That seems like a lot of fun, very cool of the Leaf players to do that.

Indeed I was, meant in good fun.  Karlsson and Alfredsson got some nice press in the latest print THN.  Even though we are about to overtake you guys,  :)  your season so far has been remarkable.  Nobody saw it coming.

Cheers compadre.
