I hoped for better but wasn't very surprised.
They've been through a bunch of turmoil the last week.
They've sent three of their brothers off to other teams.
Two pairings and two lines were new or not very familiar.
They're on the road - don't get last change to help in this situation.
They were facing the top offense in the NHL with the best player.

Samsonov wasn't sharp. We could easily point to other issues.
Two more new faces may be in tomorrow - 33% of the skaters could be very recent joins in the game tomorrow.
I just don't expect them to be very solid out the gate.
It might be rough for a number of games while they settle in.

I missed the back half of the game... seems like they partied a bit too hard in Seattle before flying out, whereas Edmonton was pretty keyed up to play Toronto.

Toronto has focused on Tampa/Boston for a long time now, and the moves are pushing them towards a heavier game style. Didn't quite adjust to a speed-based attack at the start, which is something we've been weak against all year (bottom-feeder rush-counter teams).
