Probably should put your Willy away when talking about inches.

Schenn is joining the team later today and Gustafsson is going to meet them in Calgary so neither player is dressing tonight. So really today is just going to be McCabe in for Sandin and Lafferty in for Engvall.

Any chance Schenn bumps Holl? Holl and Reilly seems like a pretty awful combo considering the options Keefe has now.
Upon the wicked He will rain Jerseys; blue and white and burning waffles will be the portion of their cup.

Quote from: Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate on March 01, 2023, 12:09:44 AMThis could be a circus for us, what with 90% of the roster being turned over.

This might be a bit overblown. There are no core changes. Everyone coming in has moved around quite a bit before and knows the drill. The top two lines that drive this ship only picked up Ryan O'Reilly, who has already demonstrated he not only fits in, but elevates the group.

If anything, it gives Tampa and Boston more work to scout for weaknesses (Sandin and Engvall already shed).

It was tongue in cheek.

Seems?
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

You know I had recollections of Rielly and Holl not being great together as well but statistically at least that hasn't been the case. Last 3 seasons their CF%, GF%, and xGF% together are all basically 52%.

I''d probably prefer them apart too but don't have any problems with trying this in game 1 of the post-trades era.

I think people are really overestimating Schenn's effectiveness. He's a bit of an upgrade over Benn, with a nice slice of nostalgia on the side. That's it.

Number update:
Luke Schenn: 2
Jake McCabe: 22
Erik Gustafsson: 56

Couldn't get Simmonds off 24 I guess

He was #5 in ice time among their D over the last two seasons (ES & PK).
He thumped with his hits - delivered 15 hits/60 mins in Vancouver.
He led the team in +/- (not a great stat but he wasn't getting lit up).
He brings experience winning 2 Cups with Tampa and may be able to provide some insights on Tampa
He brings some leadership skills
He was very popular with Canucks fans

Benn is about 9 hits/60 mins for the Leafs (ES & PK) and usually #5-6 dman

McDavid really really really needs to retire as a Leaf.  You know he must want to.

Interesting which D gets minutes against McD's line. If it's Reilly and Holl uggh.
