Seravalli seems pretty reputable, so I think this is happening!

The Rangers seemed like the most likely landing spot for Kane, so I guess that's out. Very curious to see what the cost here was.

It's not a bad deal at all, considering the subpar year Tarasenko is having. If Mikkola wasn't also part of the deal, it's probably an overpay, but, for the both of them, it's pretty fair for both sides.

The Rangers originally acquired Sammy Blais from the Blues two years ago (along with a 2nd rounder) for Pavel Buchnevich in what is probably one of the least talked about worst trades in recent history. The Blues promptly signed him to a fantastic contract and Buchnevich has 114 points in 111 games with them while Blais averaged just 10:37 a game as a Ranger and is now being sent back as a cap dump.

Yep solid deal for the Rangers. Another missed opportunity as far as the Leafs are concerned.

Really? I'd say that I'd honestly be disappointed if Tarasenko was the leafs big add. He's got a ton of miles on him, has had some injury issues, and I've still got that mental picture of Nylander eating his lunch on OT.

Leafs can do better.

Leafs don't need another top 6 RW, and Tarasenko needs that kind of role to be effective. He'd struggle on the Leafs' 3rd line. Would have been a waste of assets.

I liked Tarasenko as a potential Leaf, but I didn't think he'd return a 1st rounder. The whole RW issue is somewhat cancelled out by Nylander easily being able to shift to the left wing (believe he's said at one point he actually prefers that side).

With how effective Nylander has been on the right, I wouldn't want to move him to the other side, regardless of his preference.
