Hi guys, I've just installed a new TV in my basement.  No cable.

How do I get TSN and Sportsnet on this stupid thing without a cable subscription?

How do you watch those channels now?

What OS is the TV running?  Roku? Android? Something else?

There are apps to download, but they're not available on all platforms. I have them for my xbox, but I think they aren't available for Roku for example. Then you have to subscribe to them as well for whatever cost.

OldTimeHockey

I have both on my firesticks. Both work well with the odd glitch.

Do you not have cable at all in your home, or is it just your basement TV that doesn't have access to it? If you have cable that includes SN and TSN I'm 99% sure it gives you access to their separate streaming services, you just need to login to them using your cable provider details.

If you don't have cable at all, you'll need to sign-up for both of Sportsnet and TSN's streaming services (assuming you want access to all games). Alternatively you could sign up to just Sportsnet's "premium" plan, which is basically the new NHL Live. That'll give you access to all NHL games, but you'll need to get a little bit crafty with a VPN to access Toronto's TSN games because they're still stupidly blacked out.

Next is getting the game on your TV. As others have said that depends on what you have. Some TV's will allow you to download the Sportsnet and TSN apps directly through their operating systems. Otherwise you might need to use something like an Apple TV or firestick or playstation/xbox and use their apps through those.

Thank you all for your help.

The TV is a Samsung.  I have cable upstairs, but the thing is I'm trying to cancel my cable all together...but I want to watch the games!

It looks like I'll just have to go to basic cable plus TSN and Sportsnet.

I'd see what your think about the streaming services first. I literally haven't had cable in like 10 years but considering getting it next season because I'm kinda over how meh the stream quality is.

Thank you C.  I will reconsider!
