I'll admit I know nothing about Monahan. What's his deal? I see he's only 27, his numbers have steadily dropped. Is this an injury thing? Is he just not that good anymore? What's the story?

I don't think anyone really knows. He looked to be a future Team Canada lock for a little while and then just completely fell off a cliff. There weren't any major injuries as I can recall.

Not sure if it's another thread but I saw that monohan and a 1st round pick are going to Montreal.

Details are still to be confirmed on that. Habs might be working on a cap clearing move of their own, the Monahan deal is more complex, or both. I suspect both.

Am I seeing Cap Friendly right? Montreal has 250k in space and just added 6.3 million? So they would be 6 million over the cap?

Suzuki to Arizona?

Monahan will start the season on LTIR. More likely Hoffman or Anderson on their way out.

I'm kinda bummed that the Habs are actually making smart moves.  Taking on 1 year of Monahan while they're garbage anyway and getting an additional 1st round pick out of it is some tidy work.
