Just to make this entirely about the Leafs: 24/25 is when Matthews'/Nylander's next deals kick in and would help us keep the 5 of them together in that overlap year with Tavares'/Marner's final year. I fully expect Tavares to be retained in a Spezza-like capacity.

So one side can play murder hockey and get a bunch of penalties but eventually they'll pay more attention to the other team regardless if the first team is playing dirty. Ok.
