I don't think there needs to be an alternative to anything. Just the recognition that at it's best the criminal justice system is imperfect at determining guilt or innocence and that, rightly or wrongly, it puts a higher burden of proof on establishing guilt than it does innocence which makes it especially bad when it comes to sexual assault.

Flawed systems will produce some flawed results. I don't think that's a particularly controversial thing to say and we all sort of have to decide for ourselves what we think about individual cases.

That's reasonable, but the current zeitgeist seems to be that we believe all victims, which is a noble endeavor.

It does not account for the wrongly accused though, it's a tough one as I think there has been an overcorrection.

That's probably a natural correction though to the under reaction that occurred in the past, and if you were looking at it on a scale, I don't think that scale is anywhere close to being balanced.

I don't know to what extent the current zeitgeist actually has any impact on anything though. I can think of quite a few credible accusations of sexual or domestic assault against prominent figures in recent years that didn't really seem to have any impact on them getting seats on the Supreme Court or signing 300 million dollar deals with Disney or winning Grammys so I don't know that this noble endeavor actually has a ton of meaningful effect outside of some corners of the internet.

I would imagine its more lack of understanding of a question.

Rather than saying "I think something other than registration fees should go to paying compensation for sex assaults" they are just saying "I agree with compensation being providing to victims of sexual assault.
