We had the easy road last year and failed.  Tampa winning this series just makes me more annoyed that we get this garbage run through the East.  This division doesn't get easier next year

If Kerfoot scores on his overtime breakaway in Game 6, the narrative would be that the Leafs decisively won the series, 4-2. That the narrative about the team hangs so tenuously on the outcome of a single event like that means that the narrative is garbage. The Leafs lost a coin flip and they absolutely were equal to Tampa.

Equal or better on skills and stats, but the difference was between the ears. Tampa already learned how to bear down and power through and what sacrifices it takes. Toronto is getting there.
