I have no idea what to expect but I've prepared myself mentally for an embarrassing game 1 home loss.

Meh, I used to get worked up and worried right before the playoffs but I'm strangely calm.  So much has happened over the last little while that it's not that big a deal anymore.  Sure I really want the Leafs to win, but I'll get by if they don't.

I think playing Tampa helps with that. 1) They're obviously a damn good team/franchise and losing to them will be a hell of a lot different than *somehow mimes who they lost to last year* and 2) Tampa isn't exactly a "rival" team like say Boston so there's less of an emotional investment to beating them specifically.

None of that matters though of course because we got this.

That too, but it's more life events that have happened to me that put hockey/sports in perspective.

The idea behind Kerfoot replacing Bunting is he's a left shot and can (usually) help chain offensive sequences for his linemates. Bunting didn't have much NHL sample size coming in, but he is excellent at keeping plays alive for Marner/Matthews and doesn't mind the dirty work. Kerfoot is similar, but not as good at it (and leans more to the perimeter).

Without any thought I just added an additional 2 hours to my PVR recording for tonight's game. I think subconsciously I'm predicting an OT period or 2. Lol
