Honestly I have no concern at all. I feel this is rest days before the playoffs. Position is pretty much locked up, who gives a crap about franchise records.

Look how screwed the leafs were last year, I don't care what anyone says, Matthews was clearly injured heading into the playoffs and wasn't himself. Why take that chance again?

I'm afraid he's already injured which is my level of concern. They wouldn't just hold him out to rest. So if this is semi serious, it's gonna have a huge impact on round 1

Maybe but I'm choosing an optimistic approach. I think maybe something is bothering him but they're being overly cautious.

Matthews is chasing a Hart trophy and 60 goals...I have to think that it's something substantial if he's OK sitting given that.

Agreed. I'm also looking at the quality of the teams they're resting him against. So far, it's been against a couple teams who have been playing out their schedule with very little actual motivation. If they keep him out against Tampa and/or Florida, that might raise some flags, but against the Islander and the Flyers? That's just load management.

This.

Make no mistake, a player in contention for major trophies (Rocket & Hart) will play if it's something really minor.  I can't agree busta, I don't think this is load management.

Well, you're absolutely entitled to be wrong. ;D

I would be concerned in pretty much any other year but this year really feels like the team is playing toward postseason success.  Until Matthews looks hobbled in Game 1 of the playoffs I'm not going to sweat any player being out of the lineup (aside from goaltending....that still terrifies me)

When Keefe was asked about Jack's health he said he seemed to insinuate that he is not at 100% but was as good as he could be health wise for the playoffs.  I though that was a bit bizarre, so why not give Kallgren tonights start?
