I mean I'm certainly not going to sky is fall over it, but it is disappointing that they didn't want to have a statement game.

Kallgren wasn't bad by any means in the game and its especially hard to blame him for the 4th goal where a player gets a wide open net but we keep having games where the opposition goalie makes bigger saves than our goaltender.  With Campbell being perpetually injured I'm going to be pretty frustrated if we bow out in the playoffs because Swayman outplays our netminder.

3 of 4 points against Florida, dominate Boston, T Bay, Jets, Stars. Those were statement games. Losing to Buff is a nothing to me. Some teams just have other teams numbers. I'm also pretty sure they wanted to win the game but it doesn't always happen.
Also not concerned with Kallgren. Made some good saves and wasn't the blame on any goals. Anderson was good but he had a horseshoe up his you know what last night. Jack will be ready for the playoffs.

Jack "might" be ready for the playoffs.  I need to see a few more starts before I'm confident in pencilling him in for a 7 game series.  He's had four appearances since coming back from injury and while I think he has looked good he has a 3.48 GAA and .891 SV% in those four appearances.   2.64 GAA and .905 SV% in his three scheduled starts.

Boston lost to St. Louis and TBay got blanked by Dallas. Shit happens to every team except maybe Florida who have massive horseshoes this year.

Really astonishes me how some here don't see an issue with last night. It's not a one time thing against weak teams. For some of your guy's comments it's head scratching. Bender ya Boston lost, TB lost but those teams they lost to are playoff teams and decent teams. Guilt Trip losing to Buffalo is nothing to me. I don't get some of these comments. I don't expect them to win 82 games but there is a distinct problem with how this team gets up for non playoff teams. I can see losing to Montreal, Buffalo, Arizona etc etc during a season but we have blown numerous amount of points against teams battling for the 1st overall pick and others near the bottom of the standings. As far as the players comments when grilled about their lacklustre performances against sh*t teams sorry don't agree with the players. Grab the bull by the horn and run with it. If they played half ass against these scrub teams we'd be battling for 1st in the conference and maybe 1st overall but hey that doesn't mean sh*t to some. Hopefully the players back up their comments with a long run in the playoffs. We'll have to wait and see.

It's called context. We're able to consider it.

But are still 0-2 against Seattle this year.
I wish to hell I'd never said "Winning isn't everything it's the only thing". What I believe is, if you go out on a football field, or any endeavour in life, and you leave every fibre of what you have on the field, then you've won.

The leafs are winning a huge number of games, but not all of them.  Indeed, no one wins all of them  If I had to choose:

1. loses to bad teams, wins against good ones
2. loses to good teams, wins against bad ones

I'd choose #1, hoping their losses are due to lack of effort as opposed to lack of talent.  If that's the case, they'll stand a better chance in the playoffs where the effort won't be lacking.

FWIW I thought Keefe's comments postgame were about as directly critical as he is ever likely to be.  I read somewhere that the players pushed back on criticism that they eased up on bad teams by saying they bring it against elite ones.  If that's the case, then like you say it's time for them to back up the comments in the post-season.

I'm still of the opinion that another 1st-round exit puts Dubas in jeopardy.
