Florida clearing some room.

This is a curious move on its own, for sure. What are they clearing cap space for?

Giordano's a healthy scratch tonight, I can see a fit there. For all the talk about how great Florida is (and they are/have been, even statistically), their defence actually looks pretty weak-ish. Like this was their top-6 in their most recent game:

Weegar-Ekblad
Forsling-Gudas
Lindbohm-Montour

Does anyone on their 2nd and 3rd pairings crack a healthy Leafs top-6 (Rielly, Brodie, Muzzin, Holl, Lyubushkin, Sandin)? Maybe you could have made the case for Gudas because of his physicality a few weeks ago but Lyubushkin covers that now while being better defensively. Heck, I'd take our "4th" pair of Dermott-Liljegren over their 3rd.

Good point. Never really looked at their D outside of Ekblad and Weegar. I think we have the better D overall also.

It's the D measuring part of the season, eh

What a disgusting price, 1st, 4th and prospect for an ogre with highly questionable value.

Haha glad it wasn't the Leafs. Dermott worth a 2nd lol. What about Holl?

At these prices, I hope the Leafs don't do much.

Ya I would love to see them bolster the D but unless we can move some players in the lineup I agree. If the Leafs are looking at Giordano what are we giving up if Chariot got that.?
