I think the only player dying to be a Buffalo Sabre was Tim Horton.
I wish to hell I'd never said "Winning isn't everything it's the only thing". What I believe is, if you go out on a football field, or any endeavour in life, and you leave every fibre of what you have on the field, then you've won.

So the Sabres made Eichel sit at home with a serious untreated injury for an additional 3 or so months for nothing (on top of the few months he sat at home wanting this surgery prior to the summer). Good luck with the whole attracting players thing.

You have to figure that if the Sabres as an organization were smart enough to think about how this might affect them bringing players in that they'd be smart enough not to fight Eichel on the surgery in the first place.

Vegas is now 1st in the Pacific division with a 4 point lead on Calgary.  This trade is going to end up as a disaster if Eichel comes back successfully.

At what point does cap circumvention actually matter.

Exactly. Only matters if it is the leafs.
