Wow what a race & what a season. Controversial first and last lap. That was wild.

Drive to Survive is going to be amazing and they're for sure going to make this into a movie.

I understand Mercedes being upset about the way that ended. I'm not overly upset about it though. Mercedes seems to be the team that always gets the breaks, including Hamilton being allowed to leave the track and increase his lead in the first lap.

I was thinking about that but I also thought Max pushed him off. I'm not sure what Lewis was supposed to do there. But it is odd you can lead most of the race only to lose at the end because of a weird technicality. The race was over for Lewis once Latifi crashed. As well Masi shouldn't be getting influenced by team chiefs. It'd be like GMs calling the war room and arguing against calls and refs changing the call during a game.

Agree on all accounts..tainted result, Lewis deserved the win. Masi has made it a joke...he changed the rules. Sad way for it to end.

But it's happening in real time and developing as they take a look at the crash, evaluate whether it's safe for the lapped cars to pass, evaluating whether they have time to finish the race. It's not as black and white as a penalty call.

I don't agree with the call to finish the race the way it was finished, but part of me is so freaking tired of Hamilton and Mercedes being the darlings of F1 that a good FU to them doesn't upset me too much.

Right, but did you look at the last race? There's a reason why there's tons of complaints about this guy.

The race yesterday was incredible. It's early in the season but the changes they made to the regs certainly seems to be making it more competitive.

The racing is already better as guys seem to be able to fight back for their spots after getting passed.

Exactly. That 1/2 battle between Leclerc and Verstappen was great. Seeing Leclerc and Verstappen pass each other a couple times all the while having to take into account the DRS of the person they just passed was enjoyable. Many races in the past were over after the first corner. Some days I'd turn in for the start and then for the last 5 or 6 laps. Way too predictable.

There were also great battles between 3rd and 4th as well as a few others down the grid. I think you'll continue to see the big 3 battle for that top couple spots, but it's certainly more level now.
