Ignoring the fact that cap recapture credits exist in the first place.  Why should the Oilers be entitled to a credit for a player retiring anyway.  They get his cap hit off the cap.  What would actually entitle them to getting additional cap credit for him retiring.  They aren't the ones paying him for retiring.

So Leafs prospects are banned from using Toronto's facilities during the summer but other NHLers are allowed. Ok. Yeah.

Would the league consider designing jerseys with softer, breathable numbers/logos/badges.

The Bieber guy should design all the new ones.

Make them go back to playing in thick woolen sweaters.

Pretty surprised that Kadri remains unsigned and it's the end of July already. There can't be many teams left who could even fit him into their cap even if he comes down from what were presumably initially overly ambitious salary/term demands. I wonder if he ends up having to sign a cheap 1-year deal just to have somewhere to play this season which I suppose would also give him a chance to prove that last season wasn't quite so much of an anomaly. Can't imagine he'd end up not playing somewhere.
It's not denial...I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

If he has to settle for a cheap 1 year deal but hyman can get 7 years at 5 mil per than the nhl is even more bush league than I give it credit for.

There are quite a few teams with cap space and, not coincidentally I'd imagine, they're the teams most often rumoured to be interested. Detroit, Calgary, NYI and New Jersey all have at least 8.5 in room with teams like Buffalo, Phoenix, Anaheim, Dallas and Chicago with as much or not more.

I think it's less likely that Kadri is being unreasonable with his demands or that nobody is interested in him and more likely that a team without cap space that he prefers has told him they're going to try to free up some to make room for him.
