Man I already miss the Goat, I can't say why, but I do.  I want him to stay in the league if not with us, then I hope he ends up somewhere else.  Why not Montreal, don't they need someone who is 6'5" all the time?
He was born in Laval, he grew up cheering his home team.  Come on Habs, hire a Goat, do the decent thing.

Where does the Goat end up?  Spot the Goat, the contest starts today.  I say somewhere in Switzerland, perhaps Davos.  Goats are very popular there.

If he can't find a spot on an NHL team or one overseas, I think he comes back and plays for the Marlies, if and when the AHL restarts.

I thought it was a guarantee the Habs would snap him up, but nothing yet.

He will probably get an office job at a quarry.
Upon the wicked He will rain Jerseys; blue and white and burning waffles will be the portion of their cup.

Stunningly, they are out of space.

I don't know - I've heard Mr. Slate is a hard boss to work for. :P

From PPP:  Speaking of the Goat, here is a list of all the former Leafs (who played games for the team) still out there on the market. Frederik Gauthier, Ron Hainsey, Brian Boyle, Michael Grabner, Matt Martin, Matt Hunwick, Garret Sparks, Nick Shore, Pontus Aberg, Kevin Gravel, T.J. Brennan, and Rinat Valiev.

Matt Martin for 700k would be decent. Aberg is in the KHL. The rest are AHL bound or retirement

That's a decently long list.

Leafs have enough better options in a similar role. Honestly, it's not surprising all of these guys haven't found teams. They're all borderline guys (at best), and just about every team will have younger guys that can contribute similarly but also still have some upside.

I agree, but I think Hainsey and Martin have a shot at league minimum 1 year deals.

I'm not so sure that Hainsey would bother playing for that at this point of his career, but I think Martin probably would.

PTOs, maybe, but I don't think they get guaranteed contracts.
