Hi Hockey Fan,
Are you OK, you haven't posted in a long while and was concerned about you.  I know you mentioned you had some underlying conditions.  Please post and let us all know that you are still with us.
thanks

I'm pretty sure HF1 got a ban for ignoring mod warnings in the coronavirus thread.

I'm not sure if she was banned but she hasn't been on here since the covid
meltdown.

Too bad, she was good at filing the Raptors and MLS games and such.  Seemed like a nice person. I did notice that she did say she had some problems that Covid could exploit.

I do wish her well.   Side question: Can someone be reinstated?

She was banned because of her meltdown, not listening to the mods, etc.

There's melting down and then there's repeatedly defying board rules and direction from mods.

It has been a difficult time for a lot of people and I think that's why it's more important than ever that we maintain respectful, responsible community standards. HF1 was asked politely not to do something that violated those standards, refused, then was told not to by mods and didn't just refuse again but effectively rejected the idea that mods should be able to maintain those standards.

I'm certainly never going to be everyone's favourite poster but even I know to move off my bs when told by the folks in charge.

I didn't particularly want to share all the details about this but since it's a thing here goes. Over the span of a week this poster was asked 4 times to change their posting habits regarding myths or false information or conspiracy theories about a global pandemic that has now killed over 600,000 people. Each request was met with hostility toward the mod who gave it. After each time their posting habits just got worse. I could shrug off some of what she was saying at the beginning, I couldn't shrug off trying to spread the conspiracy theory that Covid-19 was a man-made virus.

At 11:41am April 4th she was clearly told that type of posting would result in her being banned. At 11:14pm April 4th she posted "this stealth virus has all the makings of a cleverly mutated bio engineered product". As far as I'm concerned she chose to get banned.

Right. I mean, there's a code of conduct for a reason.
