Engvall signs 2 year extension

The Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Pierre Engvall to a two-year contract extension. The average annual value of the contract is $1.25 million.

Pretty good AAV. This also sets a nice template for Mikheyev's deal.

Definitely like this signing. Price is good and helps to solidify the PK for another 2 years.
It's not denial...I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

Unless we spin off one of Johnsson/Kerfoot/Kapanen, Engvall is the new front runner for Seattle Expansion, followed by Campbell

Hyman UFA might also count and would be a better get, but I think he might get re-signed and protected at this rate.

Was thinking the same thing.

Looking through some stats and Mikheyev does have a slightly bigger edge than I was expecting on most things so it wouldn't be a mirror deal but I think you should be able to keep Soup below $2mil on a 2-year deal. Especially since we've only got about half a season of work to look at. Maybe he gets an extra $500k per.

I'd wait to see how he performs coming off that horrific injury.  Could be tricky.  Of course, there's not gonna be much time to decide.

Every offensive prospect on the Marlies should be killing penalties. If you can't handle a PK role in the AHL then it's a pretty clear sign you're not cut out for the NHL.

I could totally see him as a fan-fave Seattle first-liner, especially after he legally changes his last name to Krakenvall.
