sorry repost:
And if Hutchison should fail or go down in battle, who will pick up the torch of back up and carry it into the warring fray?............perhaps;

Kasimir Kaskisuo stopped 29 of 31 shots he faced. Kaskisuo is now 6-1-1-0 on the season with a .927 Save Percentage and a 2.13 Goals Against Average.

It had to happen. Who knows if Kaskisuo can do any better but 0 wins from Hutchinson - you can only match that you can't do worse. 1 win from Kaskisuo and he already exceeds what Hutch did.

I mean how much worse could be possibly be? Even if he is we have to try something.

Hutch is a sieve although a lot of goals last night were not his fault, even if he had stopped one, the game may have either gone into overtime or been won outright.
So if we can cut down one goal against between Hutch a Kaskisuo then we have more of a chance.

Just one more comment. I watched Kaskisuo a lot in last years playoffs, in some ways his style reminds me of Freddie, almost the same size, and their style is very similar, the way they square up to the shooters etc.  Would be nice to build from within as much as possible.  Not saying it will be a success, but anything better than Hutch.  Perhaps he will be a great AHL replacement.

Agreed a change is needed and it's coming.  Now watch Kaskisuo allow 8 goals in his first start lol

They never look like his fault, but you have a goalie not to just make the easy saves. He's not even AHL calibre at this point.

Probably with our luck...LOL..the story on Kaskisuo so far this season is that overall he has been excellent on the tough shots, if he has a weakness, he lets in the odd soft one...Just like Anderson used to do in the past, especially in October.

This is going to seriously hurt the Marlies' Calder Cup chances  >:(

EDIT: oops...wrong cup
It's not denial...I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

This is a shocking development.    :P

Terrible decisionmaking by Dubas to let it get to this point.  I said before the season started that b/u was a critical vulnerability, and it took no great knowledge on my part to come up with that observation.

Are we sure Kaskisuo is being called up?

Really,  Hutchison was the #2 Goalie in the AHL a few years back, in his NHL action. He was a serviceable back up albeit not a great one, just serviceable. If we all had crystal balls we would all have lotto Max jackpots in the bank and have part ownership of the team, so we could fire Dubas sorry ass.

Lol we'd probably throw the team in jail and set the ACC on fire so I'm kind of ok that there's no collective rule lol.

Hutch wasn't capable, but Babcock has to share in the blame.  It is idiotic ton exclusively your backup goalie only in the 2nd half of back to backs, especially when you consider the leafs don't skate well on back to backs.  Babcock set Hutch and the leafs up for failure with his stubbornness.  He is wrong, but he won't admit it.
