Well he's been sheltered in terms of his minutes/usage, but yeah maybe having a veteran to play beside him would have been nice. Still, he likely won't be paired with one next season either if he makes the team so it's something he'll need to figure out.

The way he's been sheltered is not one that's going to help his development particularly. He needs to be able to play 15+ minutes a night, and, as things are right now, there's no way to do that comfortably.

Ah ok I get what you mean. In any event like I said I do believe he can rebound next season when he gets a full training camp where he can grow with the team and play more minutes and the coaching staff will be more tolerant of any mistakes he might make. But in the meantime (*groans*), we need Cody Ceci.

Since I feel bad for being mean to Liljegren I want to share that in the whole 6 minutes of penalty kill time he's played this season he has a 50% CF and 75% FF so if those numbers hold he'll be the best penalty killer of all time.

Guilt Trip

What has happened to Liljegren was kind of expected. Even Sandin has been exposed at times. I'm not too concerned with either right now because they will learn from this. Liljegren is turning 21 next month and Sandin 20 tomorrow so they're both really young. What I do like though is that nobody is ripping the kids for their mistakes. Patience will payoff.

I appreciate it's one paragraph of what I'm sure is a longer conversation but that's basically just straight-up gibberish.

I'm not shocked that this is your take  ;D

I agree with Nik

We are kinda getting PDO'd right now. Sean Tierney seems to think we deserve a better record in the last 2 months than the results indicate.

strange to see Soupman at the top or near the top of some of the lists and he hasn't played in what....two years???

Florida won tonight.  The Leafs need to start winning.  They play Tampa on Tuesday.  Florida could gain even more ground.

Forward lines have been shuffled a bit, most notably Nylander going back with Matthews and Marner back with Tavares.

Rielly could be set to return tomorrow too.

Left wing Kapanen is my only meh feeling about that.

This should be fine too:
Nylander-Matthews-Kapanen
Hyman-Tavares-Marner

Hope Souperman can be back sooner than later, didn't realize how much Hyman he brings to his game.

Panthers beat the Blues tonight, so dead even in games, Leafs are only one point up.

We've got dates this week with Tampa (Tues) and Boston (Sat) (plus the Preds on Thurs) whereas Florida has Dallas (Thurs) and then the crappy Devils (Sat) so they'll have a game in hand again at the end of the week and we're going to have to get at least 3 or 4 points out of these games somehow. Ouch!
It's not denial...I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.
