What a joke.

I agree
It's more then what the NBA did. It was the Bucks that boycotted the game, not the league. The NHL needs to do more but so do the other leagues.

People need to start taking their heads out of their behinds and dealing with the crap going on in our society
If you had the majority of the population demanding change, it would happen. Unfortunately too many don't seem to give a crap and there's lots of people who don't see a problem. Gov'ts need to do something now.

An empty gesture that has the sheen of giving a damn but is in no way consequential is not "more" than anything. It's lip service to acknowledge an issue and try to duck criticism for inaction while not actually doing anything. Honestly, I'd rather have nothing than bland and meaningless gestures.

No games tonight and tomorrow.... here's the NHL statement...

After much discussion, NHL Players believe that the best course of action would be to take a step back and not play tonight?s and tomorrow?s games as scheduled. The NHL supports the Players? decision and will reschedule those four games beginning Saturday and adjust the remainder of the Second Round schedule accordingly.

Black and Brown communities continue to face real, painful experiences. The NHL and NHLPA recognize that much work remains to be done before we can play an appropriate role in a discussion centered on diversity, inclusion and social justice.

We understand that the tragedies involving Jacob Blake, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and others require us to recognize this moment. We pledge to work to use our sport to influence positive change in society.

The NHLPA and NHL are committed to working to foster more inclusive and welcoming environments within our arenas, offices and beyond.

EC presser? Love Reeves. Wish the Leafs had him. Seems like a stand up quality guy.

Things are getting out of hand.  That Blake shooting wasn?t unwarranted.

The Blake shooting was wrong and should lead to charges but Blake could have easily prevented it. That still does not excuse the Officer's actions. You would think after hundreds of incidents it would be abundantly clear that the possibility of bad things happening when you resist arrest greatly increase. Officer still should be charged.

Well they didn't shoot a white guy with an assault rifle who literally killed two people, but hey, what do I know?

Did he resist? Officer should still be charged but looking for a comparison might be a wasted effort
