This will be my last post on this since we aren't here to debate vaccines but I do have to point out that vaccines greatly reduce the risk of serious illness and death — their stated purpose and a point indisputably proven.  They do not guarantee zero deaths, nor has any public health professional ever claimed that they do.

I had a front-row seat during the 4 years Bertuzzi played for the Guelph Storm. There was a feral intensity to his game back then -- and that doesn't seem to have changed at all. The Leafs are missing that ingredient perhaps more than any other. If he can stay healthy, this is going to help us a lot, esp. in the playoffs.

Can we please just try and move on? Mandates have been lifted, the WHO has ended the state of emergency, masks are no longer required in most medical buildings and when you go to a game or anywhere where you are in close contact with other people there is no way to tell if they are vaxed or not, in other words life goes on. It's time to put this behind us and move forward.

Bertuzzi's career high in PIM is just 47 (in 68 games). Does he double that this season?

He's got 10 through 3 games. I think he does it.

I think he might fit Tavares' line better in terms of speed and chaos driving, but no sense in moving him off until there is a better option (seasoned Knies).

Bertuzzi has been really disappointing through 3 games so far.  Takes dumb penalties, doesn't seem to help Mathtews/Marner at all on that line.  Hopefully this is just a small sample and he's better than this or else, yikes.

Minus the penalties, I kind of like what he's brought so far. Timing and familiarity are a little of right now, but that will come in time. If not, Knies would be a guy I'd look to putting there.

I do think Knies might make more sense, but he also makes sense on the 3rd line. The forwards on this team are kind of a bizarre mix.
