Don't know where he'd fit unless we dump an existing LW.

We are pretty weak on LW. Johnsson is our best. At some point Brown, Marleau and Hyman will probably be gone. Have to keep stocking the shelves and College kids are virtually free.

Hyman stays.

I wouldn't bet on it when his next contract comes up. He, unlike Brown is a useful player at 2+ mill but if his ask is a lot more, I can see him gone and expect him to be. Can't overpay grinders which is all he is.

If he's willing to stick around without any significant raise on his next contract, sure. If not, you move him out and replace him with someone cheaper. You can't get too attached to the grinders, or you cap yourself out of being able to improve more important areas.

Yup.  I'd move him if it was necessary to sign Johnsson or Kapanen.

A college hockey reporter said it was a done deal, and that it was to be announced this afternoon. His online report was later changed to will be announced "this week". Not sure if that's some backpedaling, or maybe the timing of the announcement was just pushed back because of the whole Rielly situation. But nobody aside from him has reported it yet.

Per Leafs PR, they have signed Joseph Duszak to a two-year future enrty-level deal.

He joins the Marlies now on an AHL tryout.

The guys who just came from college will not be able to play well in the big leagues. :P  I believe that such players are not morally ready for big games. You can read my argumentative essay about this if you look here. Yes, there really are those who immediately impress with their game, but still, the number of such players is very small. There is no need to analyze to understand it. I agree that there are arguments for and against, then, all the same, I think that these players are indignant for the main team.
