So is that it?

THE HOCKEY NEWS: Why the Vancouver Canucks Passed on Bringing Phil Kessel Back to the NHL
The Vancouver Canucks didn't sign three-time Cup champion Phil Kessel despite him practising with their AHL affiliate.
The Canucks GM said it wasn't a fit. Here's why.

When you cut through the world salad, they spent a month together sizing the situation up.
If they thought Phil could have helped them, they would have made room for him.
After taking most of the season off and then working to get in game shape, ending with a month in the AHL, the players on the Canucks roster give the Canucks the best chance to win according to their GM.

Maybe he could go to a bottom feeder and help them sell tickets next season ... but it looks like he is done in terms of any meaningful resemblance of the player he used to be.

I feel bad for him but he looked incredibly slow. Not a good sign for a player who had questionable conditioning habits to begin with.

If he wants to keep playing he should go explore Europe or something. He could be lethal in some of the leagues over here.

He's been a bit of a shell of himself the past couple seasons. He had a wonderful career, but I think his time in the NHL is done.

I think it's safe to assume he showed up to Abbotsford in much worse playing shape than Vancouver (and Phil too I guess) hoped. Too bad, I really wanted him to hit 1,000 points (currently at 992).

Upon the wicked He will rain Jerseys; blue and white and burning waffles will be the portion of their cup.
