I wish we had nice things!

Let's trade away our nice things!

We need some nice things on defense, and the cap room to keep them.
You don't trade a Nylander or a Marner.  You can trade a Kerfoot, or a Hyman or a Moore etc.

I always thought so.  Why did even both to draft them if you're not going to keep their skill set?

It's up to Dubas to brainstorm about the back-up goaltending situation.  Didn't Babcock prefer McElhinney over Sparks?  I'd take McBackup any day.
He went with Sparks based on age, that he was lights out in the Calder Cup and looked like the heir apparent to the back up job.  Mcbackup was just that, coming off a career year and was not expected to play at that rate forever and although he had a decent year with Carolina last year he has not been great with Tampa this year.. I would have made the same move as Dubas, now let me look into my crystal ball again.
Agree with everything you said here. Hindsight is a wonderful thing tho.
I would say that all our crystal balls have some pretty cloudy inclusions.

Pasta, anyone?  Willy likes it Italian.  Bravo!

QuoteSugo is also a personal favourite of mine, so I had to ask Nylander what his order is. I'm partial to the rigatoni in a spicy rose sauce.
"I like the rigatoni a lot," said Nylander. "And I like the gnocchi Bolognese."

Nylander, in about half a season, has tied his career high EV goals total (15) and is 3 goals from matching his career high (22).

* Hobbes looks up from my popcorn

Proof that he was slacking it for the last few seasons?  ;D

* Hobbes hides behind the popcorn bowl
It's not denial...I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

Shocking that he turns out not to be washed up, useless and barely worth anything after a bad season at...*checks notes* 22 years old.
I wish to hell I'd never said "Winning isn't everything it's the only thing". What I believe is, if you go out on a football field, or any endeavour in life, and you leave every fibre of what you have on the field, then you've won.

So are we trading him or nah?  I can't remember where we are.

I have to say that I'm personally blown away by Nylander this season.  Some of the characters on here have been right about him all along, I will give you that.  His contract looks like a bargain at $7M/per with his current level of play.  He's absolutely flying out there and playing at an elite level.  It's great that he's locked in for a good while to come.

I happened to catch that live. Man I love Mike Johnson. The narratives out there are just so asinine sometimes, MJ should be on the evening broadcasts too.
