Canada up 1-0 so far on Sweden in their pre-tourney match.

I've been trying to watch this game through TSNs streaming service, but keeps giving me an error. Illegally it is!

Embrace the Dark Side.

1-1 going into the 1st intermission. Nylander with a secondary assist on Sweden's PP goal to tie the game.

Nylander is wearing #21. Pretty much their go-to guy for everything, including 4th forward on PP.
Marner is wearing #16. He's still getting acquainted with IIHF penalties, and picked up his 3rd penalty of the pre-tourney, leading to the tying goal.
Dermott is wearing #24. #1D on PP.

Timashov is wearing #17; on the 2nd PP unit; he was first back to give Virtanen the business after he ran over the Swedish goalie.

I assume anyone watching today's game will never again speak of Canada not selling out every single game when we host?  My beer league game last night had a bigger crowd.

A Swedish player just made a ridiculous move to keep the puck in at the blueline on a Swedish powerplay, and I thought man these Swedes are skilled.

Announcer said it was Timashov. 8)

It was a mid-air spinning off the wall pass to keep the play alive on the PP. It was sweet.

Matt Barzal's touch pass to Strome for the 2-1 lead was sweet too.

I think we can remove "weak" and "undersized" from the list of words used to describe Nylander. Can probably replace them with "awesome" and "amazing" and "god I love him".

And as I write that he skates into a teammate and that turnover causes a goal against. I'll blame the teammate though.

I credit the Canadian forward who steered him into said teammate

Marner with a slick wheel n' deal on the PP (that he drew) for Virtanen's 2nd. 4-1.

He just held the puck and wove through all 4 Swedes to make the goalmouth pass.

Marner's just been on another level than everyone else when Canada's on a powerplay. Gets rewarded with an assist now.

How's his brother look?

I heard William is lazy on the backcheck. Any merit to this?

Sweden just blasted a goal literally through the net.

W. Nylander with the screen and near tip.

Haven't noticed Alex much actually.

As for the backchecks, I don't recall any specific examples of it. In a very general sense though he's seemed like a guy who always wants the puck, and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty to get it.

Actually just as I was typing this he had a rather short backcheck where he lifted a Canadian's stick right as he entered Sweden's zone and stole the puck from him. Made it look like it was nothing.
