No problem, Mr. Leaf.

What about the date of the lottery? That's the more important date.

If the patterns holds from last year, it will be announced in late-March, and likely to be scheduled mid-April. I'm guessing April 16 this year.

Didn't they do it the day before the playoffs began?  Maybe I'm misremembering

It was the first Saturday night of the playoffs last year.

Here is a nifty visualization of how many picks each team will have at the draft as of today:

Sabers and Leafs both sitting pretty with 11 picks each, followed by the Flyers and maybe Bruins with 10.

We're the team most likely to generate more picks though with our glut of expiring contracts and Dubas' penchant for reloading Hunter's quiver on the Draft floor.

At a certain point, too many picks does become untenable. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few upward trades, or more Marincin-like deals, especially since we're projecting to land at or near the top of every draft round and have a few more C/D level prospects cluttering the cupboard.
