I did like that... unfortunately I thought the last two episodes were a bit Game of Thronesy in the sense that everything seemed extra convenient and the show runners just wanted to wrap it up, which is unfortunate. The season could've been the best, but they really, really didn't stick the landing at all. I get what they were trying to do and some aspects were interesting, but again, it's like they just wanted the whole thing to wrap and just made the ending simple and easy. The fact that Jim Moss had Barry tied up and just... like... forgot he had him... I guess? is unforgivable.

I guess the explanation was that he became so convinced that Gene was behind Janice's death he sort of stopped caring about Barry but I agree that doesn't make sense. That said, I never really liked the Jim Moss character to begin with and him catching Barry in the first place just seems like it was done to slow Barry down for a bit so Sally could return to LA and get captured.

Broadly though, I'm with you. The ending wasn't great in terms of tying up plot threads but I did like the comedic aspects of it. From Barry's gun buying(and trouble getting out of the car) to the movie at the end to just "Oh wow" as Barry's last line I thought were pretty funny. Story wise, I got the sense Hader was done with the show and just wanted to wrap it up. That makes it not entirely satisfying but I am excited to see what he does next as a writer/director.

I will say that I did like the "Oh wow" moment and it was over in a flash. I like that it was driving home for Barry that he was just kind of killed unceremoniously and without any glory.

Don't get me wrong, it was still a good show and held my interest, but the pacing was terrible, just like GOT. It's almost like they were debating another season up until the last few episodes.

Case in point-  at the beginning of the season, the team was willing to throw a game by running up red cards because Nate was the opposing coach, and then, one episode before the end, the same players show up to ask him to come back to the team, which I was sure was a dream sequence because it made so little sense, until it was made clear it wasn't.

For no reason other than they have to wrap up the redemption arc, which is was really one of the main ones of the entire series, and they gave it the "poochy had to go back to his home planet" treatment.

It was so overly fluffy and saccharine. I enjoyed most of it but there is such a thing as adding way too much sugar to the cake.

Man, if people haven't started watching The Bear I can't recommend it highly enough. Season 2 really took it to a whole different level.

I watched the first season over the last few days based on the reviews. I thought it was "meh" at best.

Although it's more of a human drama, maybe people who appreciate the culinary industry would be more receptive to it than I was.

Man, if people haven't started watching The Bear I can't recommend it highly enough. Season 2 really took it to a whole different level.

That's definitely one on my list.

I watched the first season over the last few days based on the reviews. I thought it was "meh" at best.

Although it's more of a human drama, maybe people who appreciate the culinary industry would be more receptive to it than I was. 

It's definitely a low stakes show. Nobody is going to be solving any murders or fighting a dragon so you have to be ok with the central drama of an episode being the dynamics of a dysfunctional family or whether or not dinner service at a restaurant goes well.

It's not for everyone for sure but I was maybe the one big fan of Treme.

Reverse grip right out of the gate in episode 2. Ramping up nicely in episode 3.

Ahsoka: pretty good overall but seems like it a) ran out of gas with lots of story left on the cutting room floor b) needed more writers in the room to flesh out ideas and break out storytelling beyond expository conversation. Could've fit in 10 episodes to give things more character/emotional weight.
