Sjostrom can't find a fit in NHL

TORONTO - Winger Fredrik Sjostrom, who came to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Dion Phaneuf/Keith Aulie deal with the Calgary Flames, will be playing back in Sweden this year with Farjestads.

According to the newspaper Aftonbladet, the Montreal Canadiens were the only other NHL team to make a serious pitch for the unrestricted free agent.

I really loved his game in his first half season with the Leafs after the trade, but last season was kinda meh.

Pretty much what I had expected. Dime a dozen type player.

I'm not sure he was so dime-a-dozen in the sense that few players can be so good defensively but so completely undermine it by being so utterly useless offensively, despite the fact that his speed could generate chances off the rush ....
