Do people still read? I can't remember if I already talked about this, but I picked it back up recently.

If you've read the A Song of Ice and Fire series (so far) and/or watch Game of Thrones, I especially recommend Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy (and subsequent trilogies in this universe).

I picked up Dune, just to refresh before I see the movie, now on Chapterhouse (book 4).  I love the Dune universe.  Frank Herbert had a very big brain.

I don't read much fiction, but I really enjoy the Saxon Series (Last Kingdom) by Bernard Cornwell. I've read the first 10? books. I love Viking culture and early british history, so it's the perfect mix.

If anyone's interested in learning more about our universe (and physics), We Have No Idea is a great book, funny, and very informative. The authors have a podcast called Daniel and Jorge Explain the Universe, which is one of my favorites.

I'm actually reading a book now, it's called The Bible. lol.

sorry its on my kindle,  Heretics of Dune, Chapterhouse is next.

I read Dune, but none of the others after hearing some reviews. I have a by huge pile to get through anyway.  Currently closing off Clark Ashton Smith's complete works.

You may be thrown off starting with book 4 (God Emperor of Dune) but I highly recommend you read both of Dune Messiah and Children of Dune.  It's basically one continuous story spawning off from Dune.  Very very good.

If you enjoy Bernard Cornwell, and are interested in the history of the Napoleonic Wars, the Sharpe novels are a great read. Follow the career of Richard Sharpe from Private in Indian, to rifleman in Portugal and onto Waterloo.  I thoroughly enjoyed them.

I went to see Dune yesterday. Amazing. Follows the book so well and easily the best adaptation of the source material put to film.  2 1/2 hours but didn't feel that way, I wanted more.

I saw it and liked it also but I do think it's interesting that when it comes to a movie like this they're willing to give Villeneuve 5+ hours over at least two movies to do it. Sort of blurs the line between a movie and a big budget TV miniseries.

Thanks for the review Zee, I am getting stoked to see it, there is an IMAX down in Kelowna so may go there and make a day of it.

Would be fantastic to see on IMAX. The visuals are great.
