The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Wednesday the hockey club has recalled forward Jerred Smithson from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. The Leafs also announced that Trevor Smith has been placed on injured reserve. Smith sustained a broken bone in his hand during the third period of last night’s game against the Florida Panthers at Air Canada Centre.

Smithson previously played 13 games for the Leafs this season and earned nine penalty minutes. In 10 games with the Marlies, he has registered one goal and one assist along with 10 minutes in penalties.

Smith has played 25 games for the Leafs compiling nine points (four goals, five assists) and four penalty minutes.
