The Maple Leafs, announced Thursday that the hockey club has acquired forward Fabian Brunnstrom from the Dallas Stars in exchange for forward Mikhail Stefanovich.

Brunnstrom, 25-year-old native of Jonstorp, Sweden, was originally signed by the Dallas Stars as a free agent on May 9, 2008. Since the 2008-09 season, Brunnstrom has played in 99 NHL games for Dallas collecting 19 goals and 40 points.

Stefanovich had played this season for the Toronto Marlies (AHL), Reading Royals (ECHL) and most recently Minsk (KHL). The Leafs originally drafted Stefanovich in the third choice, 98th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
