Forward lines: Stalberg-Stajan-Blake, Ponikarovksy-Grabovski-Hagman, Stempniak-Kulemin-Wallin, Orr-Mitchell-Rosehill
Defence pairings: Kaberle- Komisarek, Beauchemin-Schenn, White-Exelby
Goaltenders: Gustavsson (59:14 minutes played, 26 saves, 2 GA), Toskala (0:00)
-Viktor Stalberg left the game in the first period after taking a hit from Anton Volchenkov and did not return. No update was given on his condition.
-Alfredsson’s goal came on a penalty shot after Luke Schenn was called for two penalties for high-sticking Milan Michalek on a breakaway. What would have been a double-minor was instead ruled a penalty shot, plus a minor.
-Gustavsson made 26 saves in his first NHL start. “It was a great experience for me to play, it was the first start for me,” said the netminder. “I’m out there because I want to win and I want to compete.”
-Ron Wilson called out his squad for a lacklustre effort. “We stunk. We had no offense at all. One of Pat Quinn’s best lines – you couldn’t find our forwards with a Norden bombsight. That was almost an embarrassing effort from 7 or 8 guys that we’re really counting on heavily.”
