It was a fast-paced hockey game in San Jose Thursday evening, and the speedier Toronto squad put together a 5-3 victory.

Scoring for Toronto was Kasperi Kapanen with a pair, John Tavares, Josh Leivo and Mitch Marner.  Marner also had a pair of assists.

Frederik Andersen stopped 42 shots to earn his 11th win of the season. He leads all NHL goaltenders in wins.

Coach Mike Babcock, on getting production from the third and fourth lines:  “I thought they were good tonight. I thought [Lindholm]’s line was the best they’ve been, but I thought [Gauthier]’s line was effective as well. We had good depth and that’s important.”

Toronto wraps up the west-coast trip Friday night when they take on Anaheim at 10pm.
