Kasperi Kapanen’s goal 58 seconds into the third period held up as the game-winner in the Leafs’ 3-1 preseason win over the Buffalo Sabres.

The victory came 24 hours after Toronto’s shutout of Buffalo on Friday night.

James van Riemsdyk opened the scoring for the Leafs in the first period. Frederik Andersen played the opening forty minutes, and Kasimir Kaskisuo – who came on in relief in the final frame – earned the victory in goal.

Nikita Soshnikov rounded out the scoring into an empty net.
