The Leafs have signed defenceman Ron Hainsey as an unrestricted free agent. As reported by Pierre LeBrun of TSN, the deal is for two years with an average annual value in the neighbourhood of $3 million.

Hainsey, a 14-year veteran, has played for Montreal, Columbus, Altanta/Winnipeg and Pittsburgh.

In 2017, after playing 907 regular season games without a playoff appearance, Hainsey played in 25 post-season games en route to winning the Stanley Cup with the Penguins.
