The United States won the World Junior Hockey Championship, defeating Canada 5-4 in a shootout, in a thrilling, nail-biting game at Montreal’s Bell Centre.

Canada held a pair of two-goal leads throughout regulation, only to have the Americans rally to even the score, both times.

Leafs prospects right-winger Jeremy Bracco, and backup goaltender Joseph Woll earned gold medals with Team USA.

Troy Terry was the only player on either team to score in the shootout.
