Tough loss for  the Leafs Wednesday as they hosted Minnesota in a 3-2 final.

Ben Smith and Tyler Bozak had goals for the Leafs.  Frederik Andersen faced 20 shots.

The game looked slow throughout. Maybe it was from the Raptors playing a game the night before and it was just poor ice.  Or maybe both teams were flat.  Likely the latter.

The best kid on the ice, as often happens, was Mitch Marner.  Everywhere he goes, the puck tends to follow.  And his no-look passes are usually bang on.

After the loss, Mike Babcock called out William Nylander’s play.  He said “the reality is for him to play centre in the league, he’s going to have to get way better defensively and more competitive.”

Next action for the Leafs is Saturday night in Boston.
