The Toronto Marlies opened the Western Conference Finals with a 5-1 win versus the Texas Stars on Friday night. The team is now a perfect 8-0 in this year’s Calder Cup playoffs.

The Marlies’ goals were scored by Brandon Kozun, TJ Brennan, Peter Holland, Sam Carrick, and Jerred Smithson. The latter two goals were scored into an empty net after Texas went with six skaters trailing by a pair with over eight minutes left in the third period.

Goaltender Drew MacIntyre had a stellar outing, stopping all but one of the 50 shots he faced. Holland, meanwhile, extended his goal scoring streak to five games, and has found the net in each of his 2014 playoff appearances after missing the first round with a groin injury.

The series continues on Monday night at 8:30pm ET before shifting to Toronto for Game 3 on Wednesday.
