Noteworthy:
-Toronto native Luca Caputi scored his first goal in a Leafs uniform, in his first home game with the club (4th game overall). “Since day one, I’ve tried to make this positive for the Maple Leafs,” said Caputi after the game. “I want to prove that I was worth dealing a good player (Alexei Ponikarovsky) to Pittsburgh. It’s a good win for the guys, and a good way to make my homecoming in Toronto.”
-Nikolai Kulemin scored the Leafs’ first overtime goal of the season, giving the team the win. Toronto’s record in OT in 2009-10 is 1-9, not counting their 2-3 record in shootouts.
-Mikhail Grabovski played his first game since injuring his wrist on Jan. 2. Grabovski assisted on Kulemin’s winning goal.
-The Leafs’ were 0-for-3 on the power-play, extending their PPG slump to six games (0-for-28).

Mikhail Grabovski signs deal with Leafs

Cliff Fletcher inked a one-year contract with Mikhail Grabovski on Friday, just a day after the Leafs completed a trade with Montreal to acquire the speedy centreman.

Leafs acquire Mikhail Grabovski

The Maple Leafs made a trade with Montreal on Thursday, picking up forward Mikhail Grabovski in exchange for prospect Greg Pateryn and a second-round draft pick in 2010.

Grabovski, 24, had nine points (3-6) in 27 NHL games over the past two seasons. He was a fifth-round pick, 150th overall, in 2004.
