On Thursday the Leafs added Hall of Famer Lanny McDonald as well as Gary Roberts and Bryan McCabe to the roster for the NHL Alumni Showdown game. The event will take place on New Year’s Eve at Comerica Park in Detroit, the day before the Winter Classic.
McDonald, Roberts and McCabe recorded 2,443 points (1,083 goals plus 1,360 assists) in 4,470 combined career NHL games.
Detroit has added defencemen Paul Coffey and Mathieu Dandenault as well as forward Martin Lapointe.
