On Wednesday both the Maple Leafs and Red Wings announced preliminary rosters for the 2012 Maple Leafs vs. Red Wings Alumni Showdown. The game will take place on New Year’s Eve at Detroit’s Comerica Park, one day before the 2013 Winter Classic.
The Leafs alumni roster includes: Darryl Sittler, Rick Vaive, Darcy Tucker, Felix Potvin, Mike Palmateer, Dave Andreychuk, Doug Gilmour, Curtis Joseph, Johnny Bower, Ron Ellis, Wendel Clark, Jim McKenny and Kevin Maguire.
The Red Wings will be represented by: Dino Ciccarelli, Mickey Redmond, John Ogrodnick, Luc Robitaille, Chris Chelios, Larry Murphy, Mark Howe, Kris Draper, Kirk Maltby, Darren McCarty, Joey Kocur, Chris Osgood and Mike Vernon.
Also, fans will now be treated to two alumni games featuring close to 100 players for just one ticket price.
