The Maple Leafs used their first round, fifth-overall pick to select defenceman Morgan Rielly from the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League.
The 18-year-old native of Vancouver is listed at 6’0″, 190 pounds. He missed the last five months of the 2011-12 season after tearing an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) while driving to the net. Prior to the injury, Rielly had been producing at a point-per-game clip, with three goals and 15 assists in 18 games.
