Noteworthy:
-Darcy Tucker had a goal and an assist in his return to Toronto, his first game at ACC since signing with Colorado as a free agent prior to last season. “It felt great to score back in a place where I scored a number of goals over my career. I think I was more excited for my kids in the stands than anything.” said Tucker.
-Toronto’s Tyler Bozak earned his first career NHL point, playing in his first NHL game. Head coach Ron Wilson stated that Bozak will likely be returned to the Marlies this week.
-Joey MacDonald made his first start in a Leafs uniform, making 24 saves in the loss. “The puck was all over the place. I couldn’t really get a handle on it,” said Maconald. “They made a couple of nice moves in close and banged in a couple of rebounds. We played great at times, and I thought tonight we had some good spurts and stuff, but it’s just not enough.”
