Sundin signs with Canucks

After 309 days of speculation, former Leafs captain Mats Sundin has signed with the Vancouver Canucks.

“We are very excited to have Mats join the Vancouver Canucks,” said Mike Gillis, Vancouver Canucks General Manager.

At the conclusion of the 2007-08 season, Sundin held the Maple Leafs franchise record for most goals (420) and points (987) in a Toronto uniform.

Vancouver visits Toronto on Saturday, February 21.

disappointed to know that Sundin would not cooperate and give the Leafs a chance to receive other players last year: he did not sign with the leafs and yet decided to go with another team after all this drama. He could have done the same last year and gave his services for a return to the leafs. The leafs get nothing in treun for their…Oh well, thats the nature of the hockey world..too bad, there was a chance to get young prospects for this guy.

I still wish him the very best…however the cup will not be going to Vancouver this year…sorry MATS!!!!
