The Maple Leafs have traded forward Jiri Tlusty to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for centre Philippe Paradis. Tlusty was originally the Leafs first-round pick, 13th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Paradis, 18, was the Hurricanes’ first round draft pick (27th overall) in 2009. He has registered 8 goals in 26 games this season with Shawinigan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
