The Maple Leafs have released their opening day roster for the 2009-10 season. Toronto will carry 13 forwards, 7 defencemen and 2 goaltenders. Both Phil Kessel (forward) and Mike Van Ryn (defenceman) are on injured reserve, and are not included in the total.
The Leafs final cuts include forwards Tyler Bozak, Nikolai Kulemin and Jiri Tlusty, along with defenceman Carl Gunnarsson and goaltender Joey MacDonald, all of whom were assigned to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.
The team plays its first game of the season on Thursday – opening night in the NHL – against Montreal at Air Canada Centre.
